A timeless wedding at Château de Barthélemy
Some days are special. Weddings that leave an imprint, not just in the photo album, but in the heart. Ségolène and Guillaume‘s wedding at Château de Barthélemy is definitely one of them. It’s with great emotion that I take you today to discover this atypical, elegant and deeply inspiring wedding.
From the moment we first met, I knew their union would be different. There was that glint of authenticity in their eyes, that singular energy that I find so touching. And when I learned that they had chosen one of my favorite venues in the Paris region, Château de Barthélemy, to celebrate their love, I was immediately won over.

Château de Barthélemy, a showcase of elegance and history
Nestled in the heart of the Eure-et-Loir countryside, just a stone’s throw from Paris, Château de Barthélemy unfurls its white facades in a green setting. Refined yet full of character, the Château de Barthélemy offers a perfect balance of nature, architecture and tranquility.
Surrounded by a vast park, a pond, elegant greenhouses and rooms steeped in history, Château de Barthélemy offers a romantic, bucolic and majestic setting. It’s the ideal venue for those who dream of a timeless wedding, in a world that combines classic elegance with a soft modernity.
Ségolène & Guillaume: an unusual couple
Ségolène and Guillaume are a very special duo. Together, they form a perfect balance: Guillaume is the right brain, the creative one, full of ideas and a sense of direction (no wonder, he’s a music video director!). Ségolène embodies the left brain: calm, poised, rigorous, she’s the structure that brings Guillaume’s dreams to life. And conversely, he is the poetry that drives her logic.
When they told me about their project, I was immediately seduced. They dreamed of a wedding that was original, theatrical and resolutely timeless, like a wink to an earlier era, without ever falling into caricature. A wedding in their image: elegant, singular, a little offbeat… and full of love.
A beautiful September day
The weather was on their side: brilliant blue skies, soft late-summer light… Everything came together for a perfect day. Preparations were carried out in a warm atmosphere, surrounded by loved ones.
Ségolène got dressed in the subdued light of a room bathed in greenery. She wore her mother’s wedding gown, delicately reworked as a tribute to the transmission of her mother’s legacy. The vintage look was enhanced by a bouquet of white orchids. Guillaume, meanwhile, donned a black tailcoat suit, white gloves, cane and top hat: a resolutely period style that suited him perfectly.
First look & old-fashioned photo shoot
The first look took place under a white stone rotunda at the far end of the park. A suspended moment, simple and sincere, where glances met and emotions flowed. We then moved on to a photo shoot straight out of another century: serious poses, fixed gazes, as in the portraits of yesteryear where the bride and groom never smiled. An original, very personal way of breaking with the codes of wedding photography.
An emotional ceremony
The rest took place in a charming church close to the estate. Ségolène’s entrance, veiled, on the arm of her father, was of a rare intensity. Guillaume was waiting for her, visibly moved. The exchanged vows, the knowing glances, the discreet tears… It was all there. The light filtering through the stained-glass windows bathed the assembly in soft clarity. As they left, guests greeted them with a shower of petals, applause and big smiles.
Back to Barthélemy castle: a leap into the past
Back at the château, an unexpected scene awaited them: a battalion of soldiers in Napoleonic uniforms formed a guard of honor, drums and rifles at attention. It was a surreal, cinematic moment, as if the wedding decor had been transformed into a tableau vivant. Guillaume and Ségolène crossed the stage like heroes from another time, to great applause.
A few moments later, riders in historic costumes appeared in the castle’s alleys, trotting or galloping, adding to the atmosphere a flavour of equestrian spectacle that delighted young and old alike.
Waterfront cocktails and fireworks extravaganza
The cocktail party was held on the lawns in front of the château’s main facade, in a chic, relaxed atmosphere. Lively discussions, glasses of champagne, musicians, and always that September light caressing the faces.
But the highlight of the show was yet to come: as night fell, a majestic firework display set the sky ablaze, with the couple’s initials, S ❤️ G, in letters of fire at the water’s edge. It was a spectacular moment, engraved in the memory, worthy of the couple’s creative personality.
An evening of surprises and love
The evening continued in the estate’s glass roof, tastefully decorated in a classic-chic spirit. The bride and groom’s entrance set the tone: joyful, cheering, full of energy. Between heartfelt speeches, bursts of laughter, video surprises and touching hugs, emotion was everywhere.
The first dance was another timeless interlude. Ségolène and Guillaume opened the ball to a retro tune, watched by their guests. And they danced… with lightness, passion and complicity. Then everyone joined them on the dance floor, in a festive atmosphere that lasted well into the night.
